Now dying of pancreatic cancer, Carl is granted parole and sent to live out his remaining days at Hillview. Thirty years ago, Carl was convicted of raping and killing a 14 year-old girl and then setting fire to the wooden shack where he had stashed her body. Unfortunately, most of the residents at Hillview Manor near Minneapolis suffer from Alzheimer’s or dementia. For a college English class, Joe Talbert has to interview an elderly person and write a biography. ![]()
